                   Great Things Happening At CIA

Students have been having a blast at CIA these past two weeks.  They have had the opportunity to learn about coding, robotics, agriculture and even escape from an escape room activity.  All students have an academic rotation where they are able to work on homework and even get their homework checked.  Thank you parents for enrolling your children in the Chadron Intermediate Afterschool Program.  We truly appreciate the opportunity to serve these students.  Students may enroll at any time.  Enrollment forms are available at the CIS office or students can pick one up at program at the end of the school day. Here are a few pictures of what we have been up to.

March 19th- 22nd

Hello everyone welcome back to a great week of CIA! We are excited for this short week of the after school program, and have filled it with great activities. Here is what we have lined up:

Monday- Today will be Agent Devin and Agent Austin's day. Agent Devin has a fun game of Shrek-ball set up for us in the gym today. The name of the game is to keep your swamp safe, and to work together as a team. Agent Austin is going to have an activity of charades that will bring out all the creativity of the students.

Tuesday- We will have our infamous clubs day! The three clubs that we have this round include Career, Quilting, and Science. Reminder to all the parents of our quilting club students: they will need to be picked up at the middle school. Clubs start at 4:15 pm and will end every Tuesday at 5:15 pm. Each club has great activities planned this week!

Wednesday- There will be no after school program this day!

Thursday- Today will be Agent Sabrina's day, and she has a lot in store. She plans on conducting a game of math fact basketball to test all the students' math skills. Her upstairs activity will ask the students to bring all of their creativity and focus on STEM building.

We look forward to this short week of CIA and hope to see you all there!

February 19th-22nd

Welcome back to another great week at the after school program here at Chadron Intermediate School! We are happy to see all of you again this week, and have numerous entertaining, beneficial, and educating activities planned for this week. Here is the breakdown:

Monday: Snow Day! We hope that you all stayed warm, and enjoyed your day off.

Tuesday: Today will be clubs day! As per usual on our Tuesday's, club times will be from 4:14 pm - 5:!5 pm. These are a great way for the kids to spend their time here at ASP, and they all seem to enjoy each and every club! These include: 4H, Knitting, Pokemon, Chess/Checkers, and Crestview. Each one of the clubs have their own activities planned, and we anticipate having a great day!

Wednesday: Agent Kate and Agent Tori have planned two fun activities for the students on this day. In the gym Agent Tori will be conducting a great team building activity called the human knot. The students will be asked to grab their peers' hands and work as a team to 'un-knot' themselves. This activity will definitely be challenging, but a fun way to practice communication, trust, and teamwork. Upstairs Agent Kate will be guiding the students through STEM building projects using Lego's. The students will be asked to create their very best tower, bridge, pool, etc. Kate will give them some ideas to get them started and then let the creativity take control after that.

Thursday: Today will be Agent Troy's day! He has planned to play a game of bowling...but taken to the next level. Also the students will test their STEM knowledge with an activity that your students will definitely enjoy.

There is no after school program on Fridays, so enjoy your weekend! We hope that all the students enjoyed their time here this week, and we look forward to seeing them on Monday.

February 5th - 8th

Hello everyone welcome back to another week at the after school program! Here is what we have in store:

On Monday we will have Agent Devin and Austin's day. Devin will be hosting parachute games and activities in the gym. They will be working on team skills as they try to save their peers in a game of sharks and minnows. Agent Austin will conduct a game of math basketball upstairs. The students will be challenged on both their shooting hoops and math skills!

Tuesday is our infamous clubs day! We are beginning a new round of clubs including; Crestview, 4H, Pokemon, Chess/Checkers, and Knitting. Your kids should all be signed up by now for their specific club and they should look forward to all of our fun adventures every Tuesday!

This Wednesday will be Agent Kate and Tori's day. Agent Tori has planned on conducting a STEM building activity where the students will be given full creativity to create towers. They will have access to an abundant amount of materials, and full creative control. Agent Kate will have a fun game going on in the gym of balloon tennis! The students will be broken into teams, and will be asked to work together to play a game of tennis, with balloons instead of balls.

Thursday we will have Jackie with Keep Chadron Beautiful coming to our program! She will be teaching us about how we can keep our town in tip top shape, and what impact we make on our own environment. The students will spend time with her doing different activities, and developing more skills on how they can keep Chadron beautiful.

Thanks for reading and for being a part of our after school program. We look forward to seeing you this week!
