Today At CIA...

Hello everyone! Today at CIA we will spend one rotation learning to move properly, and in a fun way! The students will learn various movements, and how to apply them to physical activity. A game will likely follow the lesson which will give the students an opportunity to showcase their new skills! The academic rotation will be homework, as well as a fall craft. We will be making Popsicle stick scarecrows which will be hung on our fall bulletin board! Pictures of the bulletin board will be posted later this week on our Twitter page! Don't miss out on awesome updates, give us a follow at:

Get Moving With CIA!!

This year at CIA we are making a push to become better in the classroom and stay active while we are at it. On Monday we went around the playground and did stations. For the first station we did 100 jump rope, for the second we did 25 push ups, the third was 50 squats, and to finish the round we did 50 crunches. As the activities coordinator I am looking to do more station things like this that will involve doing a math problem to see how many repetitions of a certain exercise needs to be done. As we go along in the year we are going to work on exploring what our heart rate is telling us and that with play we need the correct nutrition. This next couple Monday's we will build a foundation so we can later understand what exercise and nutrition will do for our bodies along with our brains.

2016 SUMMER SCIENCE CAMP - 9 DAYS OF FUN!

4TH GRADE SCIENCE CAMP WAS A GREAT TIME!  WE EXPLORED A DIFFERENT THEME EACH DAY.  HERE IS A BREAK-DOWN AND SOME PHOTOS:

DAY 2:  Space Science - We studied about the sun and planets.
DAY 3:  We made solar cookers and did some great physical science experiments including elephant's toothpaste, dancing raisins, genie in a bottle, and Diet Coke & Mentos.
DAY 4:  We went to the State Park to study and search for butterflies with the Nebraska Game & Parks; we also rode the paddle boats, cooked hot dogs in our solar cookers, and hand-cranked ice cream!
DAY 5:  Water Science - We explored surface tension, glow in the dark jello, bouncing bubbles, and edible water bubbles.
DAY 6:  Engineering - We made marble roller coasters!
DAY 7:  We went on a field trip to Wind Cave.
